Artist Cassandra Kendall grew up on a ranch in San Diego, California, with a family of artists and musicians. Including, horses and many exotic pets, such as, parrots, monkeys, skunks and reptiles.
As a young girl, Kendall loved to draw and take photographs of all the things that surrounded her life. These experiences lead Kendall to study fine arts at Southwestern College and San Diego State University.
Over the years Kendall worked with various mediums including acrylics, oil paints, film, digital photography, multimedia, graphic design and three-dimensional design.
“Creating art felt natural to me. By nineteen years old, I was already a paid freelance artist,” Kendall explained, “commissioned to photograph and/or draw portraits of dogs, cats, horses, and birds.“
Kendall was also hired to photograph weddings, customized murals, paintings, and even upcycled vintage furniture.
Throughout the millennium, Kendall continued to master Photoshop editing, graphic design and custom photo albums. Kendall managed quality control over her artwork in order to execute high-end products and service. Including custom matting and framing.
By 2013, Kendall had photographed over five hundred weddings and corporate events gaining over ten thousand hours experience in the commercial photography field. During this chapter, she also worked with many wonderful people, beautiful venues around the world and talented professionals in the business.
Now, Kendall is focused on the next chapter of her art career creating fine art style animal portraits and contemporary art.
Kendall is currently focused on commissioned portraits, as well as, large scale 2D canvas paintings for gallery representation. Her favorite mediums to work with are graphite, Faber-Castell polychromos color pencils and acrylic paints using earthy, complimentary colors in a magical realism style.

Kendall especially likes to create imagery with a contemporary edge, depicting figurative life-art and various animals in dreamscapes, whilst incorporating the mystique of ancient arts, fables and Goddesses. Imagery that reflects upon her own life experiences to convey compassion, mindfulness, love and feminine vitality.
Throughout the year, Kendall makes time to do commissioned art, specializing in artistic portrait drawings, paintings and photography.
However, Kendall dedicates 4-6 weeks of her time to complete one custom portrait and photography services.
So, availability is limited.
If you have an idea in mind for a commisioned portrait, please subscribe to Kendall’s email and ask the artist for a quote. Currently, she is booked-up but has availability for two more commissions during November 2020.
“It is my mission to ignite imagination and invoke a sense of awe and wonder in the viewer.
To have my works of art enjoyed and viewed where people gather; in their homes, places of work and public spaces, where they may gaze upon the artwork , cherish their portrait and feel inspired.”
